Personalised Medicine
Choosing the right test for you
We are all unique individuals that require unique healthcare interventions. We definitely cannot benefit from generic practices.
DNA testing allows us to better understand our response to different diet, lifestyle and supplement choices (nutrigenics) as well as their response to certain medications (pharmagenomics)
You are born with a set of genes that you cannot change during your lifetime. You can however influence the manner in which these genes are expressed and therefore change how things work to your body's advantage, but first you need to know what needs changing.
There is a strong relationship between the genes we carry and the nutritional, medicinal and lifestyle changes we make
So which test is right for you?
Whilst there is a great range of tests (some of which also include key elements of others), sometimes having two or three tests can give you the all the answers.
Unless you are 100% sure, we always recommend having an online consultation with our lead practitioner Lilly Wickham, who can advise which tests will give you the results you seek. If you are an existing client, talk to Lilly in your next session.

DNA Health
The DNA Health test is designed to optimise well-being and health by personalising lifestyle and diet choices and, where necessary, using supplements tailored to offset any particular nutritional deficit based on specific gene variants.
The DNA Health approach assists the healthcare practitioner in establishing the optimal nutrition necessary for good health, longevity and disease risk mitigation. Diet is a key factor in determining genomic stability as it impacts on all relevant pathways: exposure to dietary carcinogens, biotransformation, DNA repair and synthesis, and apoptosis. Current recommended dietary allowances for vitamins and minerals are based largely on the prevention of diseases of deficiency. However, because diseases of lifestyle are partly caused by damage to DNA it stands to reason that we should focus our attention on defining optimal requirements of key minerals and vitamins for preventing genomic instability.
Additional attention should be paid to individuals with genetic polymorphisms that alter the bioavailability of specific micro-nutrients and the affinity of specific key enzymes for their micro-nutrient co-factor.
Clinical Value
- Highlights specific metabolic pathways that may require extra support
- Provides recommendations that involve optimisation of quantities of certain nutrients, vitamins and minerals
- Suggests whether an individual is better able to reduce their cholesterol levels through diet, as opposed to through medication
- Provides an indication of the degree of susceptibility to the harmful effects of carcinogens ingested in the diet
The DNA Health Test Report provides:
- The level of impact of any genetic variants identified
- An explanation of their impact on health
- Appropriate nutritional and lifestyle recommendations
The results are divided in sections of key metabolic function, so that genetic weaknesses and strengths within a functional area can be easily identified.

DNA Diet
One of the first products of its kind in the world, DNA Diet tests for 15 genes that impact metabolism and exercise. The genes comprising the DNA Diet test have associations with body weight and body mass index, and all meet stringent criteria for utility in genetic screening tests. We provide a detailed report with recommendations that include dietary changes and an exercise programme.
Genes involved in regulation of energy expenditure, appetite, and fat metabolism, all play an important role in weight regulation. In fact 40% to 80% of the variance in body weight is due to genetic factors. This helps to explain why not everyone gains or loses weight while following the same diet, despite being exposed to similar environments. Identifying an individual’s responsiveness to diet and lifestyle modification to control weight can be extremely advantageous.
Genetics determines an individual’s susceptibility to obesity when exposed to an unfavourable environment. It also explores the way a person responds to diet and exercise.
While healthy nutrition may in certain cases result in weight loss, this depends on many factors. The DNA diet provides a tailor made nutrition and exercise programme. Healthy eating and exercise may result in weight loss, but this is not guaranteed.
Clinical Value
- Provides strategies for weight management based on genetic make-up
- Provides motivation to individuals with a goal to lose weight
- Provides an understanding of why previous weight management programmes may have been unsuccessful
- Provides insight to which diet type (i.e. Mediterranean style, low carbohydrate, low fat diet) may be most suited to an individual to manage weight, based on genotype
The DNA Diet Test Report provides:
- The level of impact of any genetic variants identified
- An explanation of their impact on weight management
- Appropriate nutritional and lifestyle recommendations. This includes weight management priorities, diet plan principles, exercise planning and how to calculate MET hours

"Our mouth is not just for smiling, our teeth can do more than chew, and our tongues do more than just taste and swallow. The oral cavity is a sensitive ecosystem and the gateway to our body. We feed ourselves through the mouth, we speak to others through it - and it is central to the health of the entire body. If the mouth is not healthy, diseases develop: from irritability, tiredness and obesity to cardiovascular diseases to strokes, Alzheimer's and cancer - everything begins in the mouth. “ Extract from the German dentist book
“A healthy mouth leads to a healthy body”
“Good oral health is the start to good health”
“Your health begins in the mouth – It is the doorway to the entire body”.

DNA Resilience
What is the test
DNA Resilience is a genetic test targeted at individuals who want to:
- Lead more effectively (in business, sport and life)
- Cope better under stressful and demanding conditions
- Enhance their mental, emotional and physical health
- Live up to their fullest potential
DNA Resilience reports on the seven key molecular areas that have the greatest influence on resilience. They are:
- Cortisol, oxytocin, the neurotrophic pathway, neuropeptide Y, norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin
The report is able to determine an individuals’ genetic potential for resilience and provide ways in which intrinsic strengths can be amplified and existing weaknesses reduced. The action steps centre on highly individualised lifestyle strategies that leverage diet, targeted activity, environmental awareness, and nutritional supplements.
Why the test was developed/clinical utility
The test was developed to combat the challenges brought on by the current set of socioeconomic conditions (global economic downturn, social isolation, health insecurity etc.) and the dire impact these have on our emotional, mental and physical health.
Given the hereditability of emotional regulation (30%), temperament (±56%) and cognitive aptitude (>99%), a critical knowledge and understanding of individual genetics and environmental influences can unlock exceptional resilience and a performance advantage regardless of circumstances.
‘From potential to performance’.
‘From surviving to thriving’
